Interacting with our followers
We wanted to increase our audience engagement on our social media platforms. After an event or holiday, we wanted to make a post relevant to the day, so we decided to use the available features, such as polls, Q & A, and more, to interact with our followers. As a result, we successfully had many of our followers engage with our posts.
Promoting recent articles
The publication, Scot Scoop, creates many articles per week, which often people don't see. As a job for the social media team, we want to advertise the articles to increase the viewing. As a result, we created multiple posts about recent articles published that week. We would put the headline, feature photo, and the link to the article.
Spaced out caption for readability
A majority of our followers are students, so many only have a short time span for reading. Therefore, we separated sentences into mini paragraphs for the captions, allowing our followers to read and comprehend the information easily.
Using color scheme
We decided to use a specific color palette (blue, gray, and white) that correlates to our school color for the text box to make our profile more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Photojournalism
We observed that our followers would engage with our account more often when posts are related to their friends, such as photos at school. This observation led to the start of photojournalism. To check out more of the photos, click here!
