About Me
My journey in journalism began during my sophomore year at Carlmont High School when I joined Scot Scoop, a student-run journalism website. Initially, I focused on reporting about school clubs, highlighting their events and missions. Over time, my interests expanded to encompass topics like feminism and psychology. I also delved into social media, using Scot Scoop's platforms to design promotional materials, provide live coverage, and capture photos.
In my second year, I broadened my skill set by contributing to the Highlander, Scot Scoop's newsmagazine. In addition to writing abilities, I honed my skills in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign to edit photos and create graphics. Throughout my high school years, I continued to refine my journalistic abilities.
Now, at Purdue University, I've joined the media team at the Bechtel Innovation Design Center. Here, I will continue my journalism journey, creating social media content to cover activities within the center, such as students using manufacturing machines in woodshop and metalshop, and producing articles on significant projects like building rockets. I am incredibly grateful for all that Scot Scoop has taught me and look forward to applying these skills in my future endeavors.
